STEVE SPERRY

Principal Trumpet Steve Sperry is our Feature Musician of the Month. Steve, a lifelong Whatcom County resident, began playing the trumpet at The Salvation Army Church when he was 10 years old. His first teacher was Hazel Brown who was and still is the Bandmaster at the Bellingham Salvation Army Church. Steve has studied trumpet with Thom Parriott, Ray Kirkham of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vince Greene and Phil Smith. In addition to the Bayshore Symphonic Ensemble, Steve is  a member of the Glacier Bay Brass Quintet, Whatcom Symphony Orchestra, and an active freelancing musician throughout the area. Steve currently resides in Bellingham with his wife Kelly and their four children.
